What is the Point of All of This?

You know, I've been thinking, "What is Minecraft supposed to be about, what is the story behind the game?" I've read several accounts as to what the back story behind the game is, and I agree to a point with some of them. The best one I've read can be seen here: http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/A_Short_Minecraft_Rant. However, I have a bit different view as to what this game could really mean behind the scenes.
I think that Minecraft is a purgatory state for your character. I can't figure out what Steve would be in this state for, but you can't deny that in singleplayer survival mode you will always be alone, like in the Minecraft creepypasta above. Anyway, I believe that he is living in the nether, basically, but instead of being in hell itself, he's in the waiting room. He died and now he can't escape the world that he is in. Why else would you be allowed to respawn as many times as you want (Hardcore mode doesn't count people).
I also believe that the reason he died was due to a zombie apocalypse or something along those lines, and that watched his friends get turned into zombies, and they in turn killed him.. The reason I theorize this is because that the only living things, besides animals, you can interact with are the monsters in the game and villagers. The zombies and skeletons are the friends that he watched change and was killed by, and he is now forced to live with them trying to kill him again night after night, death after death, with the villagers unable and unwilling to help him.
What do think the story behind this is? Do you agree with me or do you think I've gone insane? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading and see you later!

What happened to Notch?

Hi there, I would like to discuss a topic that I brought up briefly in my last post, but would like to go more in depth on. This topic would be "Why did Notch pass over the creative rights to Jeb?" This is a question that I would love some feedback as to why you actually think he did what he did.
My personal opinion is that Notch just got sick and tired of running the game. I have no doubt in my mind that he wanted to move onto other projects like Scrolls and whatever Mojang made, but my personal opinion is that he just got tired of updating and coming up with ideas for the game. Think about this, if you are forced by your parents to play a musical instrument and hate practicing it and never had any real interest in learning it at all, the moment you didn't live with them anymore, or if they said you could stop if you want, you would stop immediately because you never wanted to do it in the first place.
This is, in a way, what happened with Notch I think. Of course, he wanted to create Minecraft and had all the intentions to make it a great game, but somewhere along the lines, he changed. He just didn't have the motivation to take part in the creative process for it anymore. I'm not saying this is the exact reason at all, and, as I said, I would love your feedback as to what you think happened.

Microsoft and Minecraft?

As you know by now probably, Mojang has been bought out by Microsoft to capitalize on the hype surrounding the game. Notch agreed because he says that he doesn't like or want the pressure of being the creator of a company which produced one of the largest games ever created in history.

Now there are some things grinding my gears:
1. Microsoft is a large company.
Large companies, when they buy smaller ones tend to mess things up and go away from what the original vision was of the company.
2. They are considering making a Minecraft 2!!
Why! There is no need to make a sequel to a sandbox game that is updated frequently and can easily be fitted with new things. At this point your just trying to rob us players of our money by making a game that inevitably a lot of people will buy.
3. The current game is now in danger of being screwed up!
Now I'm not saying that it will get messed up, but knowing Microsoft, they'll try to make the game extraordinary and instead ruin the experience for all of us avid fans. Now, holy crap Bill Gates, let Jeb keep his job of being head of creating the new aspects of the games please!!!

What about you? Do you think Microsoft will ruin everything?
